ELEVATE, NOT ALTER

Each experience includes professional makeup.
Nothing undermines perfectly composed, beautifully lit portraits more than inadequate makeup — or worse, none at all.
You may tell me your makeup is excellent, or that you don’t wear any. I respect that. But in the reality of my craft, there’s nothing more challenging than a face whose tones haven’t been balanced, a complexion that isn’t fully even, lingering redness, or a mismatch between the face and the body — which often happens when tan lines appear after time in the sun.
And gentlemen, this concerns you just as much. I know, the word “makeup” may raise an eyebrow. The goal isn’t to transform you. It’s to even out your complexion, reduce shine, soften redness, and give your skin the clean, polished finish the camera demands. My male clients are often the most surprised — and the quickest to be convinced. What they see on screen is simply themselves, but enhanced. Nothing more, nothing less.
Everyday makeup rarely translates on camera the way it looks to the naked eye. It calls for greater subtlety and refinement, with contouring and sculpting work, and a focus on skin that looks uniform and luminous from every angle. A professional makeup artist considers lighting, storytelling, styling, your comfort with the products, and your face shape when designing the look.
This isn’t a luxury — it’s the finishing touch that keeps the quality of my work coherent at every level. That’s why I care so much about offering this service, which perfectly complements mine.
In the end, results are what matter, and I want the very best for your experience. You have everything to gain!
Of course, the makeup artist will consider your specific wishes: nude, glamour, false lashes, emphasis on eyes, brows or lips, smokey eyes, updo, wavy hair, straight hair, tied back… while giving you constructive feedback on what truly flatters your features.
In short, all of this feeds into the scenography of your session. Nothing is incidental — everything is connected.
And last but not least, a makeup artist is an essential ally to ease you gently into the heart of your shoot. I love those suspended moments when my clients arrive a little nervous, get pampered, and finally relax and let go. Every time, it’s unique.
In conclusion: the idea isn’t to change you or betray who you are, but to elevate you and honour a luminous, serene face. Many people equate being “natural” with being un‑made‑up. Makeup doesn’t mean transforming you entirely. The nuances of this art are subtle. You can choose anything from a nude effect — looking un‑made‑up while actually wearing makeup — to a more pronounced, glamorous or burlesque style.
The watchword is: have fun! It’s not every day you get professionally made up, so bring your energy and be yourself… or someone else. Anything is allowed!
Personally, I’m happy with any direction as long as you feel good about it and approve the result before we start shooting in the studio. It’s all about dialogue and understanding.
