Enhance, Not Transform: The ART of Gradual Makeup

Every experience includes professional makeup.

Nothing can hinder perfectly composed and lit portraits more than inadequate makeup—or worse, none at all.

You might tell me your makeup is flawless, or that you don’t wear makeup at all. I respect that. But in the practical reality of my work, there’s nothing more challenging than uneven skin tones, a complexion that hasn’t been unified, persistent redness, or mismatched tones between the face and body—often the case after returning from a sunny getaway with tan lines.

Everyday makeup doesn’t always translate well on camera the way it does to the naked eye. On-screen, it becomes more vital and nuanced, involving work on the contours and structure of your face while highlighting your skin, making it flawless and radiant from every angle. A professional makeup artist takes into account lighting, storytelling, styling, your comfort level with the products, and the shape of your face when planning the makeup.

This is not a luxury, but rather the cherry on top and a way to align the quality of every aspect of my work. That’s why I’m so committed to offering this service, which perfectly complements mine.

Ultimately, it’s the result that matters, and I want the best for your experience. You have everything to gain!

Of course, the makeup artist will listen to your specific wishes: nude, glam, false lashes, eye, brow, or lip enhancements, smokey eyes, buns, wavy hair, sleek styles, updos... All while offering constructive feedback on what truly works best with your features.

In short, this is all part of what brings important elements into the scenography of your session. Nothing is incidental; everything is connected!

And last but not least, a makeup artist is an essential presence to gently guide you into the heart of your session. I absolutely love those suspended moments when my models arrive a little nervous, get pampered, and gradually relax, letting go completely. It’s a unique moment every single time.

In conclusion: The idea isn’t to change or betray who you are but to enhance and honor a luminous, serene version of yourself. Many people confuse being “natural” with not wearing makeup. The act of makeup doesn’t mean transforming you entirely. The nuances in this art are subtle. You can journey from a “nude” effect that makes you look unmade-up while actually wearing makeup, to more pronounced styles like burlesque or glamour.

The keyword here is “have fun!” It’s not every day you get professionally made up, so embrace the experience and be yourself… or someone else entirely. Anything is possible!

For me, as long as you feel comfortable with your choice and approve the look before stepping into the studio, I’m happy. It’s all about dialogue and understanding.
